Presented to James Edwards from Aycliffe School, Birmingham on his departure for Canada. April 27th, 1873.

The Pilgrim's Progress from This World, to That Which Is to Come is a 1678 Christian allegory written by John Bunyan. It is regarded as one of the most significant works of religious, theological fiction in English literature. The work is a symbolic vision of the good man's pilgrimage through life. At one time second only to the Bible in popularity, The Pilgrim's Progress is the most famous Christian allegory still in print.

This wonderful blue volume has an embossed front and back cover, gold foiled spine, contains two detailed illustrations, and has “side notes” throughout which are printed in smaller text.

The book is roughly 15cm by 11cm, which means it is also wonderfully portable.
